MANILA, Philippines — Years after their deaths, the country’s known public servants were remembered at their last resting places inside the Manila South Cemetery a day before “Undas.”

On Thursday, a floral tribute was placed at the former tomb of late president Elpidio Quirino.
He was buried at the Manila South Cemetery after he died in 1965, but his remains were transferred in 2016 at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
A flower arrangement was also put up at the tomb of former Manila wartime mayor Leon Guinto Sr., who died in 1962.

Despite the few people who known who he was, today Leon Guinto Sr. is merely known as one of the streets in Manila.
Jose J. Atienza Sr., father of Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza, was also remembered with flowers placed in front of his grave.

Atienza Sr. was the former chief of the Department of Public Services.
