BuCor to restore visiting privilege of Bilibid inmates
MANILA, Philippines – Visiting privileges for inmates at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Maximum Security Compound will resume on Wednesday, October 30, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) announced Tuesday.
BuCor said the visitation schedule will be implemented per quadrant.
No visotrs, however, will be allowed on Mondays and Tuesdays.The following is the visitation schedule per quadrant:
NBP North
(Quadrant 1) Wednesday and Saturday
BLDG. 1 – 7:30 am to 9:00 am
BLDG. 6 – 8:30 am to 10:00 am
BLDG.12 – 9:30 am to 11:00 am
HOSPITAL WARD 1,3,5 AND ANNEX – 9:00 am to 10:00 am
NBP West
(Quadrant 2) Thursday and Sunday
BLDG. 4 – 7:30 am to 9:00 am
BLDG. 7 – 8:30 am to 10:00 am
BLDG. 11B – 9:00 am to 11:00 am
HOSPITAL WARD 2, 4 AND TBTU – 9:00 am to 10:00 am
NBP South
(Quadrant 3) Wednesday and Saturday
BLDG. 3 – 10:30 am to 12:00 noon
BLDG. 8 – 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
BLDG. 13 – 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm
NBP East
(Quadrant 4) Thursday and Sunday
BLDG. 2 – 10:30 am to 12:00 noon
BLDG. 5 – 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
BLDG. 9 – 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm
BuCor said visitors will be subjected to the usual body frisking and strip searching, if necessary.
Bags and other belongings will also be throughly checked.
Inmates’ relatives were reportedly barred from visiting since October 9 following the demolition of shanties in the Maximum Security Compound which were allegedly used to conceal contraband items in the correction facility. /gsg
