Authorities remain clueless on Bukidnon cop station blast
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –– Authorities are still digging in on the motive and identity of the perpetrator behind the blast that hit the police station of Quezon town in Bukidnon Thursday night.
Brig. Gen. Edgardo de Leon, commander of the Army’s 403rd Infantry Brigade, said they were still waiting for an armed group to claim responsibility for the attack.
Unidentified men lobbed an explosive at the Quezon police station around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Lt. Melchor Saraus, Quezon deputy police chief, said the explosion did not hurt anybody but shrapnel from the explosion ripped a parked vehicle near the police station.
“It’s not the nature of the communist rebels to just throw an explosive. If they attack, they would do it to capture the station,” De Leon explained.
De Leon said Thursday night’s attack was the second time the police station was harassed by unidentified men./lzb
