CIDG agents nab 2 bet collectors in Lucena
LUCENA CITY –– Anti-illegal gambling operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested two suspected bet collectors of the illegal Small Town Lottery (STL) or “bookies” in this city on Monday night.
A report said CIDG agents collared Mandy Borillo and Ofelia Cadiang while they were gathering cash bets for the bookies in Barangay Ibabang Talim around 8:30 p.m.
The authorities confiscated several bet collection lists and bet money of different denominations from the suspects.
The arrested suspects failed to produce identification cards issued by Pirouette Gaming Corp., the licensed STL operator in the province, which showed they were engaged in the illegal operation of the state-sanctioned lottery.
