SAN PEDRO CITY –– Police on Tuesday continued its manhunt to recapture a detainee, who escaped from his guards through a toilet window in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

Lt. Col. Eugene Orate, Sta. Rosa City police chief, said Dennis Garcia, 33, who was under police custody for illegal drugs charges, was undergoing a medical check-up at the City Health Office around 3 p.m. Monday, when he told his guard, police Corporal Consino Peru, that he needed to use the restroom.

The check-up was part of the process of transferring a detainee from the police custodial facility to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
