Environment exec slain outside home in Leyte
ORMOC CITY, Leyte –– The municipal environmental and natural resources officer of Albuera town in Leyte was gunned down by still unknown assailants outside his home at 6:50 a.m. on Friday.
Teofilo Granada, 51, was driving his white Toyota Hilux when one of the suspects on board a motorcycle shot him.
The victim managed to run but another assailant aboard another motorcycle shot him several times, which caused his immediate death.
Capt. John Rey Layog, chief of the Albuera Police Station, said they recovered a piece of paper in the area, which showed that Granada got the ire of some persons who are into quarrying and illegal lumber business.
