Maynilad warns anew of possible rotational water service
MANILA, Philippines — Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Tuesday warned consumers of the possible return of daily rotational water service interruptions with the current dip in the water level at Angat Dam and Ipo Dam.
According to Maynilad, the water allocation from Angat Dam remains at 40 cubic meters per second (cms), lower than the normal 48 cms allocation. So the raw water supply entering Ipo Dam and Maynilad’s treatment facilities is not enough.
Maynilad added that rain showers in Angat and Ipo watersheds had not been frequent in the recent days.
In a statement, Maynilad advised its consumers to stock water regularly in case the daily rotational water interruptions would need to be implemented because of infrequent rainfall.
Maynilad also advised consumers to monitor their social media pages for the final list of the possible water interruption.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the water level in both Angat Dam and Ipo Dam dipped on Tuesday.
