LRT-2 starts operations as early as 5 a.m.

MANILA, Philippines — Operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) started as early as 5 a.m. on Monday, a week after partial operations resumed.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) earlier announced that it will adjust the schedule of operations from 6 a.m. to 5 a.m.

The schedule of train trips has been adjusted after the LRT-2 implemented partial operations from Cubao station to Recto and back due to a fire incident at the train line.

The LRT-2 operations normally start at 4:30 a.m. from Santolan station to Recto station.

However, the Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations have not been operational since the fire incident.

As of 9:37 a.m., five trains and 20 coaches are running on the train line. Moderate to a heavy volume of passengers was observed at Cubao station, while other stations have a light volume of passengers.
