Train schedule of LRT-2 to start early beginning Oct. 14
MANILA, Philippines — Partial operations of Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) trains will start at 5 a.m. on Monday (October 14) days after a fire hit a power rectifier in between stations, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said Saturday.
LRTA spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the hours of train trips had been adjusted to 5 a.m. from 6 a.m. after the management somehow fixed their operational procedures after the fire incident.
“We have somehow stabilized our operational procedures in relation to our current telecommunication system and power supply system, maintenance procedures, brought about the fire incident,” Cabrera said in a text message.
“And upon review of the safety office, they have given clearance that we can start operations an hour earlier,” Cabrera added.
On Oct. 8, officials of LRT-2 implemented partial operations as train trips will only cover Cubao Station in Quezon City to C.M. Recto Avenue Station in Manila and vice versa.
