LRT-2 suspends operations as power rectifier trips, catches fire

MANILA, Philippines — LRT-2 operations were suspended Thursday after a power rectifier tripped and caught fire in between stations.
Atty. Hernando Cabrera told INQUIRER.net in a text message that power rectifier located in between Santolan and Katipunan stations was the cause of the problem.
Operations have been suspended as of 11:24 a.m., according to the LRT-2’s Twitter post.

Cabrera added that the line’s management is also looking at how train operations will resume immediately without using the Katipunan station.
