MANILA, Philippines — LRT-2 operations were suspended Thursday after a power rectifier tripped and caught fire in between stations.
Atty. Hernando Cabrera told INQUIRER.net in a text message that power rectifier located in between Santolan and Katipunan stations was the cause of the problem.
Operations have been suspended as of 11:24 a.m., according to the LRT-2’s Twitter post.
ADVISORY: As of 11:24 AM, LRT-2 operation is temporarily suspended. Investigation and intervention is ongoing. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Cabrera added that the line’s management is also looking at how train operations will resume immediately without using the Katipunan station.
“Doon sa ating standard operating procedure, pagka-nagkakaroon ng problema sa ating Katipunan area, pwede nating maibalik ang ating serbisyo using Recto hanggang Cubao or pwedeng Recto hanggang Anonas,” Cabrera said in an interview over DZBB.
[When it comes to our standard operating procedure, when a problem arises in the Katipunan station, we can fully restore our service using Recto until Cubao, or Recto until Anonas stations.] /muf
