Traffic enforcer shot dead in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — A traffic enforcer was shot dead in Pasay City on Monday, police said.

An initial report from the Pasay City Police identified the victim as Joey De Chavez.

According to police, a security guard heard a gunshot in front of a commercial building along Edsa Extension at about 9:30 a.m. and saw the victim lying on the ground.

Prior to the shooting incident, police said bystanders saw a motorcycle rushing towards the northbound lane of Edsa after the incident.

Investigation of the case is ongoing. /je
