MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Richard Gordon on Saturday questioned a United States Senate panel for approving a travel ban against those involved in the imprisonment of Sen. Leila de Lima.

“First of all, that’s interference. I’m not taking sides. But we have functioning courts,” Gordon, speaking in Filipino, said in an interview at AM radio station DWIZ when asked about the issue.
“She can post bail. She can summon a lawyer. She can be visited. She can be interviewed. The justice system is working. Why are you interfering?” he added, referring to the US Senate.
Gordon and De Lima had previously clashed.
During a hearing on the controversial early release of heinous crime convicts, Gordon said De Lima used the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law to gain money at the National Bilibid Prison.
