MANILA, Philippines — FlipTop rapper Loonie, who was recently arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Makati City, tested positive for marijuana use, according to the initial laboratory report on his drug test.
The document released to the media on Monday showed Marlon Peroramas, Loonie’s real name, tested positive for TBH metabolites and negative for methamphetamine — that is, crystal meth, locally known as shabu. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chief intoxicant or the main active ingredient of marijuana.
His companions David Rizon and Ivan Agustin yielded the same results, while Peroramas’ younger sister Idyll Liza and a certain Albert Alvarez tested negative for both drugs.

According to the initial laboratory report from the Southern Police District Crime Laboratory Office, the urine specimen used in the test will be subjected to confirmatory examination.
The suspects were arrested after they allegedly sold P100,000 worth of kush, or high-grade marijuana, to a police officer posing as a buyer at the basement of a hotel on Sept. 18.
Peroramas reportedly admitted using marijuana but said he was frame-up for the arrest, with the police planting evidence on him.
The Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 66 also denied the petition for habeas corpus of the suspects since they already went through inquest proceedings on Sept. 20.
