3 BuCor officials seek writ of habeas corpus

MANILA, Philippines — The three officials of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) detained by the Senate during a hearing last Sept. 12 — BuCor legal chief Fredric Santos, BuCor documents chief Ramoncito Roque and New Bilibid Prison hospital doctor Ursicio Cenas — asked the Court of Appeals for a writ of habeas corpus, claiming they were unjustly accused of lying because they did not corroborate the testimony of other witnesses. —Dona Z.
