Magnitude 4.0 quake strikes off Sarangani
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded Wednesday afternoon off Sarangani in Davao Occidental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The quake happened at 1:10 p.m. with its epicenter located 183 kilometers southeast of Sarangani.
Phivolcs said the tremor was of tectonic origin and had a focal depth of 11 kilometers, thus, classified as shallow-focus earthquake.
No damage and aftershocks are expected after the quake, Phivolcs said.
