Cavite drug bust yields P13M in ‘shabu’
MANILA, Philippines – At least P13.6 million worth of shabu, or crystal meth, was recovered by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents in a buy-bust operation in Imus, Cavite on Monday.
Reports from PDEA’s National Capital Region office said the drug stash was recovered from suspects Paul Angelo Lee Castro, 30, Jesse James Palenzuela, 29 and Gina Carim Abdul, 45, who sold the shabu to an undercover agent along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway.
Agents recovered two plastic bags with shabu crystals weighing around two kilograms. The evidence has been turned over to PDEA’s Laboratory Service for analysis.
The operation in Cavite was PDEA NCR’s second multi-million peso bust. Earlier, PDEA agents also arrested three suspects with P3.4 million in shabu at a Pasay City mall./TSB
