MANILA, Philippines — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Itbayat, Batanes on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck at 11:02 a.m. at 26 kilometers southeast of Itbayat.
Phivolcs said the quake was of tectonic origin, and had a 14-kilometer depth of focus.
The tremor was also felt at Instrumental Intensity I in Basco, Batanes.
No aftershocks and damages are to be expected, Phivolcs added.
The town of Itbayat was known to experience a series of earthquakes last July 27, which left nine people dead and 60 others injured. /muf
