MANILA, Philippines – Chavit Singson, a prominent political figure and senatorial candidate for the 2025 elections, has responded to a viral video where vlogger Jourdan Sebastian called him “g*go.” Known for his blunt style and candid approach to politics, Singson addressed the comment and reinforced his stance as a candidate who isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

Sebastian explains that Singson’s wealth gives him the independence to fund his own campaign without relying on outside influence. He says, “Kasi kung ngayon pa lang wala siyang kaso at manalo siya. At hindi siya humuthot ng pera kung kanino man. At ginagastusan niya yung sarili niya. Di wala siyang utang na loob kahit kanino.”

(Because if right now he has no case and he wins, and he didn’t take money from anyone, and he’s spending his own money, then he wouldn’t owe anyone anything.)

Sebastian also highlights Singson’s brash, straightforward nature, saying that many Filipinos are drawn to leaders who speak their minds and don’t play by traditional political rules. He compares Singson’s appeal to that of other bold figures like President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Robin Padilla.

Sebastian also points to Singson’s success in Ilocos Sur, where he has helped make the province one of the wealthiest in the country. He suggests that if Singson can show that his achievements in Ilocos Sur can be replicated across the nation, he could gain the support of voters nationwide.

Sebastian believes Singson’s involvement in projects like hosting the Miss Universe pageant and launching affordable e-jeepneys for drivers further demonstrates his commitment to helping Filipinos.

As the video wraps up, Sebastian makes a bold statement: “Yung g*gong alam natin ba-backup-an tayo kung kailangan at sinasama tayo sa pag-unlad nila hindi lang sila, kundi kasama tayong lahat. (That person we know, who backs us up when needed and includes us in their progress—not just themselves, but all of us together).” He argues that Singson’s unapologetic, direct approach could be exactly what Filipinos need in a leader.

Singson responded by reposting the video on his social media with the caption, “Sinong g*go?” His post quickly gained traction online, with people discussing his reaction and the broader implications of his political campaign as the 2025 elections draw near.
