Guevarra orders temporary suspension of GCTA processing

MANILA, Philippines–Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the suspension on the processing of time allowances given to convicts.

“I have given verbal orders to the BuCoR (Bureau of Corrections) to temporarily suspend the processing of GCTAs (Good Conduct Time Allowance) as a precautionary measure and in the interest of prudence,” Guevarra said.

The DOJ has created a task force that will review BuCor’s guidelines in processing of time allowances.  /muf
