Aug. 25 to 30: Iloilo 82nd Charter Day
The city of Iloilo celebrates its 82nd charter day with the theme, “Responsive and Responsible Governance.”
Iloilo City was inaugurated on Aug. 25, 1937, after the towns of La Paz, Mandurriao, Molo and Arevalo were merged.
There will be a food fest, medical mission, family planning program and charter day parade.
Aug. 25 to 30: Pasigarbo sa Sugbo
After a six-year halt, the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, dubbed the “festival of festivals” in Cebu province, is relaunched. The monthlong festivities kicked off with the 450th founding anniversary of Cebu on Aug. 6.
Article continues after this advertisementA highlight of the festival is the much-awaited street dancing competition, wherein at least 45 groups will showcase the festivals of the towns and cities of Cebu.

Annual feast in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental province, in honor of St. Augustine, the city’s patron saint.
Activities include a fluvial procession, dragon boat race, horse show, travel fair and street parade.
