‘Snatcher’, 7 others dead in shootout with cops in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan—A suspected snatcher was shot dead by a policeman during a shootout in Guiguinto town on Monday evening.
Police Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Police Cpl. John Michael dela Cruz chanced upon the unidentified man who snatched a bag of a jeepney passenger in Barangay Ilang-Ilang at about 7:45 p.m.
Investigators said Dela Cruz, who is assigned at the Manila Police District, chased the motorcycle-riding suspected thief who engaged the policeman in a gunfight.
In separate anti-criminality operations since August 2, police killed six drug suspects who reportedly resisted arrests and fired at the responding lawmen.
A suspected motorcycle thief was also killed during a shootout with policemen.
