‘Catfish-zilla’ caught in Pasig River

MANILA, Philippines – A big catfish or “hito” weighing ten kilos is the fourth giant fish caught by fishermen in Pasig River.

In a statement from Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) on Friday, the 10 to 12-kilo catfish was caught by fisherfolk in Barangay Guadalupe on Thursday. PRRC said a catfish normally weighs around a kilogram.

In July, Michael Crudo, who conducts recreational fishing in Pasig River, bagged two Dory fishes which weighed 11 and 17 kilos.
