2 MILF members killed in Tacurong City

COTABATO CITY –– Two members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were shot dead by an unidentified gunman at a gas station in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on Tuesday, August 6.

Police Lt. Col. Rey Egos, Tacurong City police director, said the killing of Sangutin Musil alias Commander Jerry Amino, 53, and his companion, Alex Amino Toto, 30, happened around 3 p.m at the AB Gasoline Station along Alunan highway.

Musil and Toto were residents of Purok Musil, Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong town.

Their affiliation with the MILF was based on identification cards recovered from them, Egos added.

Egos said an investigation showed that the victims were aboard a white sedan that was about to refuel at the gas station when a lone gunman on a motorcycle arrived and fired at them.

Both died on the spot.

Police believed the shooting was triggered by “rido” (family feud) involving the victims and another family in Lambayong.
