Senators honor late Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Jose Balajadia Jr.
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate on Wednesday adopted a resolution which honors former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Jose Balajadia Jr. who died on July 7.
Senator Richard Gordon, who sponsored the resolution, paid tribute to Balajadia before the resolution was adopted.
“As Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, he was instrumental in keeping discipline, security, and enforcement of the law in the Senate. I don’t think we have had a problem with security here,” Gordon said.
“He was a great listener, that’s why he was a great leader. He listened to his people, to his colleagues, to his friends. Certainly, he was very, very effective,” the senator added.
Balajadia died at the Baguio General Hospital due to heart failure, his son Jet, said.
