Subic cops nab Aussie accused of killing live-in partner

SUBIC, Zambales — Police here have arrested an Australian national who allegedly killed his live-in partner inside their home.

The suspect was identified as Jamie Mathew Flanagan, 53, a resident of Sta. Monica Subdivision.

Police previously said Desiree Mañoso, 25, committed suicide when she was found hanged using three neckties at their bedroom on Sunday.

Flanagan’s involvement in killing Mañoso surfaced after the autopsy result revealed that Mañoso was already dead prior to the hanging.

This prompted policemen to arrest Flanagan that day.

Based on further investigation, Mañoso’s relatives said the couple had a heated argument the night before the incident.

Flanagan, who initially denied the accusations, is now under police custody while a case of homicide is being prepared for filing against him.
