MANILA, Philippines — Ride-hailing firm Grab is offering a P50,000 reward to anyone who could provide information on the suspects that robbed a bank in Binondo on Thursday.

Seven armed robbers hit the Metrobank branch located at the corner of Sto. Cristo St. and Claro M. Recto Avenue.

“To help speed up the investigation, Grab is offering a reward of P50,000 for any relevant information that would aid in locating the robbery suspect,” Grab spokesperson Nicka Hosaka said in a statement on Thursday.

Hosaka said they received information that one of the suspects was wearing a Grab driver-partners’ jacket.

However, she noted that Grab had given thousands of such jackets over the years and any one of them “may have been passed on or sold.”

“That said, we are working closely with the local authorities to aid in their ongoing investigation, and we will provide relevant updates as new information becomes available,” Hosaka added.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has also offered a P1 million reward to anyone who could provide information on the suspects. /ee
