Main suspect in 2018 killing of Davao Sur village councilor falls
DIGOS CITY–Police in Davao del Sur on Sunday (June 30) announced the arrest of the suspect in the 2018 killing of a village councilor of Hagonoy town in the province.
Police Major Francis Sonza, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief in Davao del Sur, said Rody Mindoro, alias “Taligatos,” was arrested at the village of Lahao in General Santos City on Satirday (June 29).
Cabales was the prime suspect in the the killing of Cecelio Ordaneza, a councilor of Barangay Guihing, Hagonoy on May 28, 2018.
Sonza said Cabales had been the subject of a manhunt operation.
Ordaneza was driving when he was shot repeatedly allegedly by Cabales. Ordaneza died instantly.
Sonza said Cabales has pending arrest warrants for another murder case filed at Davao del Sur courts.
Cabales is now being held at the Digos City police jail. No bail was recommended and Cabales would be transferred to a regular jail. (Editor: Tony Bergonia)
