Maynilad to meet with regulators before acting on MWSS penalty
MANILA, Philippines — Maynilad Water Services Inc. said they will coordinate with their regulators before taking their “next course of action” regarding the penalty imposed on them by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System’s (MWSS).
“We will coordinate with our regulators to determine the rationale behind their decision and how they arrived at their computations. We will set our next course of action based on this discussion,” Maynilad said in a statement tweeted by ABS-CBN on Friday.
Earlier, the MWSS’ Regulatory Office penalized Maynilad for its failure to provide a “24/7 water supply” for its customers in Las Piñas in May 2019.
MWSS said Maynilad is required to rebate the amount of P2,500 per water service connection (household) in Barangay Captain Albert Aguilar (CAA).
