Speeding car kills girl, hurts dad in Isabela mishap

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — A speeding car rammed a motorcycle, killing a 15-year-old girl and critically injuring her father in Barangay Lullutan on Thursday afternoon (June 13), police said.

Sherimae Zalun was dead by the time she was brought to the Isabela Doctors General Hospital.

Her father, motorcycle driver Severino Zalun, has been confined at the Gov. Faustino Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital.

They were dragged for at least 35 meters by a sports utility vehicle driven by Cesar Villanueva until their shattered motorcycle was flung towards a grass-laden shoulder of the road about 2 p.m.

Villanueva surrendered to the Ilagan police and has been charged for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide, physical injuries, and damage to property. Villamor Visaya Jr. INQ (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
