2 suspected drug pushers dead in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY –– Two suspected drug pushers were killed in a buy-bust operation in Biñan City in Laguna province on Friday.

The suspects were identified as Renz Avila and Anthony Carait. A report from the regional police headquarters said the shootout happened around 4 a.m. in Barangay San Antonio.

Police said the suspects were first to fire shots, prompting the undercover policemen to return fire. Both were hit and died while being taken to the hospital.

Police recovered seven sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), a motorcycle, and guns of .38 caliber from the suspects. Maricar Cinco (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
