‘Colorum’ drivers given enough time to submit papers
MANILA, Philippines — Amid clamors to extend the June 7 deadline for franchise applications, or open more slots for transport network vehicle services (TNVS) units, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) maintained that they had already given a reasonable period for drivers to comply with requirements.
The agencies issued a statement amid Grab’s suggestion that they temporarily allow some 5,600 deactivated drivers back on the road.
But the LTFRB and DOTr said TNVS operators and drivers were given ample time to apply for a certificate of public convenience or a provisional authority with the deadline even extended. —Krixia Subingsubing
