Aguirre on Tulfo’s row with DSWD chief: ‘These brothers never learn’
MANILA, Philippines — Former Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Friday twitted the Tulfo brothers for the latest controversy hounding them.
“These brothers never learn,” Aguirre said in a statement.
The ex-Justice Secretary’s statement comes after Erwin Tulfo publicly berated Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista for not granting him an interview on his radio show.
“I personally know these Tulfo brothers, including Ramon and Erwin,” Aguirre said, referring to the radio broadcaster and his older brother, who serves as special envoy for public diplomacy to China.
“I believe that they are apologizing because they never expected the gravity of the backlash, coming as it did from the military and the police, the sector that the Tulfos could not afford to fight at this time,” he said about the controversy surrounding the brothers.
“It is my opinion, judging from my own experiences, if they would be off the hook without them learning their lessons, they would be back in their entitled and arrogant ways in no time at all!” Aguirre added.
