MANILA, Philippines — The meeting of several senators on Wednesday night aimed to discuss the committee chairmanships, among others, was deemed “successful,” Senator Manny Pacquiao said Thursday.
Pacquiao, who was the host of the meeting held in his residence in Makati, said the senators were able to resolve the committee chairmanship issues.

“Marami kaming na-resolba… Parang wala nang naging problema. Madali nang i-resolve kagabi,” Pacquiao told reporters in an interview in Pasay City when asked of the result of the meeting.
“Successful ‘yung meeting kagabi at maganda yun na napag-usapan,” he added.
His party-mates from the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) were satisfied with the results of Wednesday’s meeting, Pacquiao said. He thinks no other problems will arise after the meeting.
“Wala na akong nakitang problema sa part namin unless magdemand pa ‘yung iba na wala doon sa sinulat nila, magkakaproblema,” the boxing icon-turned senator said.
Among those present during the dinner were Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senate Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri.
The other senators who also attended were Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, Joel Villanueva, Sherwin Gatchalian, Grace Poe, as well as outgoing Senators Gringo Honasan and Loren Legarda.
Among the neophyte senators present were Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino, Christopher “Bong” Go, and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, as well as returning Senators Lito Lapid and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
