On Tuesday, Zubiri said committee chairmanships for the 18th Congress were starting to shape up as several incumbent senators retained the leadership of their committees.
Zubiri said neophyte Senators Christopher “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa would be likely to chair the Committee on Health and Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, respectively.
The Committee on Games and Amusements would most likely be chaired by returning Sen. Lito Lapid.
The Committee on Education, which would be split into the Committee on Basic Education and the Committee on Higher Education and Skills Training, would be chaired by Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Joel Villanueva.
Zubiri added they were still “trying to find a happy solution” for the other senators, such as incoming Senators Francis Tolentino, Imee Marcos, and Pia Cayetano.
Several committees, such as the Committee on Ways and Means, were still up for grabs, Zubiri said.
