Cops hunt down pals of Chinese drug suspects
DAGUPAN CITY, PANGSINAN, Philippines — Police said they were tracking down the safe houses and accomplices of four Chinese drug suspects who were arrested in Urdaneta City in Pangasinan province last week.
One of the suspects, Lu Jun, was nabbed while transporting 18.81 kilograms of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P124 million on Camantiles Road.
His black Toyota Grandia was intercepted after police were tipped off that it was carrying illegal drugs.
The suspect’s accomplices, identified as Ye Ling, Lui Bin and Xu Zhi Hong, were arrested at their rented apartments in Pangasinan after police carried out search warrants.
Two of them had fake passports while another failed to present any document, police said.
Bin’s apartment in Urdaneta yielded shabu worth P500,000 and drug paraphernalia. —Yolanda Sotelo
