Construction worker dies after lightning strikes him in Leyte village

ORMOC CITY —- A construction foreman died after he was reportedly hit by lightning about 5 p.m. Thursday in Barangay District-I, Babatngon, Leyte.

Police Lt. Col Bella Rentuaya, spokesperson of the Eastern Visayas police, said Diosdado Sabenorio, 58, of Barangay Tinaogan, Basey, Samar, went fishing in the sea with his brother when the lightning struck.

“The brothers did not mind the lightning until the victim was suddenly hit by it,” Rentuaya said. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
