P1.7M suspected ‘shabu’ seized in Cavite buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — About P1.7 million worth of suspected  “shabu” (crystal meth) was seized in a buy-bust operation in General Trias City in Cavite on Thursday night.

In a report released Friday, operatives of the General Trias drug enforcement team arrested drug suspect Zandro Oñate inside a subdivision in Brgy. Santiago, General Trias City, at 11:30 p.m.

Seized during the buy-bust operation were about 250 grams of shabu worth P1.7 million.

Police said Oñate is now being detained at the headquarters of the General Trias City police. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are also being readied against him, police said. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
