P2-M shabu seized in Manila, 17 drug suspects nabbed

MANILA, Philippines —  Seventeen drug suspects were arrested and P2 million worth of shabu were seized in four separate anti-illegal drug operations by Pandacan police officers in Manila on Tuesday.

Officers of the Pandacan police station arrested Laurence Pacultad, 30; Orlando Bautista, 39; Cristia Balao; Melissa Baga, 43; Raquel Dela Rosa, 48; and Erickson Aquino, 29, along Maligaya Street during a buy-bust operation in Kahilum II, in Pandacan, Manila.

Meanwhile, Aljun Lopez, 21, and Love Torres, 32, were arrested after police officers seized 85 grams of shabu during a buy-bust operation inside a hotel in Mabini Street, Ermita Manila.

In Quiapo, police arrested Basit Ubaton, 49, Anwar Umpara, 19, and a 17-year-old teenager for possession of 200 grams of shabu in a buy-bust operation along Arlegui Street corner Globo de Oro.

Another buy-bust operation led to the arrest of suspected drug suspects Roberto Aniag, 40, Richard Mitanda, 31, Jenalyn Osi, Wilson Del Rosario, Edward Tolentino, 21 and Aron John Dela Cruz, 18.

Confiscated from them were 285 grams of suspected shabu with a street value worth P2 million and marked money worth P4,800.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002 are now being readied against the arrested suspects.  (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
