MANILA, Philippines – The proclamation of winning Senate candidates got an added showbiz vibe when actor and former senator Lito Lapid was referred to as  “Pinuno” as he was formally proclaimed by Commission on Elections Commissioner Marlon Casquejo.

Lapid left the series prior to the start of official campaign period for national candidates in February.

Lapid ranked seventh in the so-called Magic 12 with  16,965,464 votes.

Another fellow actor, former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., also made it to the Magic 12.
