QC cops nab father-and-son tandem in Pampanga drug trade

MANILA, Philippines — A father-and-son tandem allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Pampanga on Thursday.

Members of the Quezon City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-SDEU) arrested Ricardo Queyangco, 68, and his son Reynante Queyangco, 26, in Barangay Bayabas, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The suspects were apprehended after they sold P16,500 worth of shabu (crystal meth) to a police officer posing as a buyer.

Police obtained information about the Queyangcos from four drug suspects arrested in a previous anti-drug operation in Novaliches, Quezon City. Ricardo and Reynante were allegedly suppliers of shabu in Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, Quezon City.

According to reports, they previously lived in Barangay Gulod but transferred to Pampanga two months ago.

Seized were 25 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P170,000 and eight pieces of cal .45 ammunition.

Both suspects are now under the custody of the Quezon City police station. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
