Comelec resumes canvassing of May 13 votes

MANILA, Philippines—The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), resumed Wednesday its session to canvass midterm election votes.

So far, 34 Certificates of Canvass (COCs) from 130 clustered precincts across the country and Philippine posts abroad have already been canvassed.

There are 167 COCs in total.

According to the Comelec’s latest partial and official count, reelectionist Sen. Cynthia Villar is currently leading the race with 4,092,454 votes.

Villar is followed by Sen. Grace Poe, Christopher “Bong” Go, Pia Cayetano, Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Sen. Sonny Angara, Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino, and Lito Lapid.

Completing the top 12 were reelectionist Senators Aquilino Pimentel III, Nancy Binay, and Bam Aquino.

Sitting right outside the “Magic 12” were reelectionist Sen. JV Ejercito and former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.
