Lray Villafuerte proclaimed Camarines Sur representative

PILI, Camarines Sur — A day after the 2019 midterm elections, reelectionist Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte has been proclaimed Camarines Sur Second District representative after getting 80,029 votes.

Villafuerte (Nacionalista Party) defeated Maribel Andaya-Eusebio (Nationalist People’s Coalition), who received 76,615 votes after the canvassing of votes.

Eusebio is the wife of former Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio, who was also defeated by Vico Sotto, ending their 27-year reign in Pasig.

Villafuerte thanked his supporters for the continued support to him and his family.

Villafuerte’s son, Miguel (PDP-Laban), is leading in the gubernatorial race against Ronaldo “Nonoy” Andaya Jr. (NPC), while his father, Luis (NP), is running as a representative of the third district of Camarines Sur and trailing behind Gabriel “Gabby” Bordado of the Liberal Party.

He also said that one of his agenda for Congress is to institutionalize the 4Ps.

“That is a program of the national government. If a new president sits and he or she does not like the program, that may be removed,” Villafuerte told the media after his proclamation.

He said he would also focus on bills that would ease doing business for Filipinos.

He also said that he would be a Duterte ally.

“I will be a Duterte ally. First of all, what he did in our province like the Build, Build, Build has been helpful,” he said. “People up to the barangay level feel his programs. With that, we will support him and his programs.”  (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
