LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — Vice mayor Victor Perete, who recently assumed the post of acting mayor of Daraga town, led the partial and unofficial tally of the town’s mayoral race, leaving behind incumbent mayor Carlwyn Baldo and the widow of Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe Gertrudes.

Jasmin Cecilia Belarmino, election officer of Daraga, announced at 8 p.m., that more than 50 percent of precincts had transmitted the results of the election.

According to Belarmino, Perete obtained 17,018 votes, followed by Gertrudes “Gertie” Duran-Batocabe with 13,166 votes. Baldo got 11,081 votes.

Baldo, who is accused of double murder and six counts of attempted murder, waived his right to vote after he surrendered to authorities Friday.
