Alan Cayetano, wife vote in Taguig
MANILA, Philippines — Former Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano cast his vote at the C.P. Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Taguig City on Monday.
Cayetano, who is gunning for the congressional seat for the first district of Taguig-Pateros, voted at precinct number 130A at around 10 a.m.
Meanwhile, Cayetano’s wife incumbent Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano, who is gunning for representative of Taguig City’s second district, voted at the Kermes Elementary School in Taguig.
Just a week ago, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) junked a petition which sought to disqualify the Cayetanos.
In a petition filed in November 2018, Leonides Buac questioned the claim of Cayetano that he is a resident of Barangay Bagumbayan in the city’s first district, while Lani lives in Barangay Fort Bonifacio in the second district, noting that it was not in accordance with Article 69 of the Family Code which states that the husband and wife shall fix the family domicile.
