5 nabbed for illegal  distribution of campaign materials in Batangas

LIPA CITY – Police arrested five individuals for distributing campaign materials adjacent to a voting precinct in Barangay Anilao,  Lipa City Monday morning.

Lt. Col. Ramon Balauag, Lipa City police chief, identified the arrested suspects as village councilor Julian Rodel, 58;  Dolores Soriano, 45; Gregorio Caguitla, 41; Diane Dela Rosa, 23 and Marivic Contreras,33.

The suspects were arrested at around 7:30 a.m., for distributing campaign materials near the voting precinct.

Seized from them were campaign materials of a mayoralty candidate here, said Balauag.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Omnibus Election Code and Commission on Elections Resolution No. 10429.
