MANILA, Philippines — Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos vowed to promote laws that would improve benefits for mothers.
“Sabi nila, the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world. At ang mga nanay na tulad natin ang tunay na rockstars,” Marcos said in a statement issued on Saturday.
[As they say, the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world. And it’s mothers like us that are real rockstars.]
Marcos said she would want to amend the Solo Parents Welfare Act so that it would offer more benefits for single mothers, such as a 20-percent discount on goods and services.
“Extending a 20-percent discount on basic goods and services to single parents will greatly benefit them and help ease their plight,” she said.
