Magnitude 4.1 earthquake rocks San Julian town in Eastern Samar
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake jolted San Julian town in Eastern Samar on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
According to Phivolcs, the 2:38 p.m. earthquake had a depth of 36 kilometers, with its epicenter located 77 kilometers northeast of San Julian.
Intensity I was reported in Borongan City but no damage may be expected from the temblor, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs said the quake was an aftershock of the 6.5-magnitude tremor that also struck Eastern Samar last April 23.
