2 minors nabbed for stealing motorcycle in Makati City

MANILA, Philippines — The police collared two minors for stealing a motorcycle in Makati City.

Police Col. Rogelio Simon, director of the Makati City Police, reported on Tuesday the arrest of the 15-year-old and 14-year-old, both residents of Pasay City.

According to the police, the minors were nabbed on Monday for stealing the Yamaha Mio Sporty of Josephine Tobias at about 3:45 a.m. on April 30 while it was parked in front of a shop selling motorcycle parts and accessories along Evangelista Street in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.

Police Major Gideon Ines, deputy chief of the Makati City Police, told INQUIRER.net that the suspects were out-of-school youth.

Police said the victim sought police assistance after reviewing the closed-circuit television footage of the shop.

Village authorities positively identified the minors as those who took the motorcycle based on the footage, prompting the police to launch a manhunt.

The minors were turned over to the Makati Youth Center, while the motorcycle was returned to its owner. /cbb
