MMDA: Parts of Edsa, C-5 to undergo repairs this weekend

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Friday that portions of Edsa and C-5 road will undergo repairs and reblocking over the weekend.

In an advisory, the MMDA said the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 11 p.m. on Friday (May 3) until 5 a.m. Monday (May 6):

Southbound:
Edsa before New York, after Monte de Piedad (2nd lane from the sidewalk)

Northbound:
Edsa fronting Baliwag Transit to New York Street (1st to 2nd lane from sidewalk)
Edsa 50 meters after Magallanes MRT to KM 29 (outer lane)
C-5 road fronting SM Aura (beside sidewalk)

The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the said areas and to use alternate routes.

The agency assured that said road sections will be fully passable by Monday morning. /ee
