Duterte to join Hugpong ng Pagbabago miting de avance

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte will join her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, at the miting de avance of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) in their hometown in Davao City on May 9.

This was announced by Jefry Tupas, the regional party’s media coordinator, on Thursday.

HNP is supporting 13 senatorial bets, all of whom are either allies or supportive of the Duterte administration.

The President, meanwhile, has his own slate of 12 candidates. HNP is also endorsing ten of them.

Duterte’s slate is composed of reelectionist Senators Cynthia Villar, Koko Pimentel, Sonny Angara, and JV Ejercito, former senator Pia Cayetano, former police chief Ronald Dela Rosa, former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, Maguindanao rep. Dong Mangudadatu, former Presidential aide Bong Go, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, former Interior Secretary Raffy Alunan and folk singer Freddie Aguilar. /ee
